Lead Electrical Engineer (PCB exp. )
Connect Talent Solutions is in need of an Electrical Engineer, Lead that performs technical support tasks in electronics and/or engineering operations. Individual will be working on system design, upgrade and certification for the Inertial Navigation System – Replacement (INS-R) Project.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
· Conducts, researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems.
· Independently designs electronic circuits, components and integrated systems, utilizing ferroelectric, nonlinear, dielectric, phosphorescent, photo-conductive, and thermoelectric properties of materials.
· Independently designs test control apparatus and equipment.
· Determines procedures for testing products
· Directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment.
· Directs field operations and maintenance of electronic installations.
· Evaluates operational systems and recommends design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements.
· May provide technical direction to less experienced personnel.
· Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
· Works under minimal technical supervision of experienced senior personnel for daily and weekly tasks.
· Participates in the research and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
· Consults with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
· Writes and maintains documentation to describe program development, testing, changes, and corrections.
· Writes documentation or reviews documentation written by others that describes installation and operating procedures.
· Supports leading and mentoring of junior personnel.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering or similar field.
· Six (6)+ years of experience in professional engineering design, to include:
· Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Works with mathematical concepts to include, but not limited to:
o Probability and statistical inference
o Plane and/or solid Geometry
o Plane and/or solid Trigonometry
· Applies concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Writes routine reports, operating instructions and correspondence.
· Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
· Speaks effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
· Participates in the research and analysis of customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
· Consults with other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
o Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
o Interface protocols (I/O)
o Digital Design using state-of-the-art microprocessors
o Analog, power and/or RF design
o Inertial Navigation Studies is a plus
Active Secret Security Clearance required.
